IPT’s Social Superheroes group is led by a Speech-Language Pathologist and focuses on social skills with an emphasis on pragmatic language. Specific skills that will be targeted include, conversation skills, turn taking, asking questions, interpreting body language and additional skills that support a child in a social setting. Our structured group schedule includes opportunities for hands-on learning using play, expressive arts, games, and discussion to help form and maintain friendships. Register Today!

It's not a club anyone wants to be a part of, but if you are a person in their 20s or 30s who has lost a parent, sibling, or partner, sometimes it's good to be with people who get it. Co-sponsored by Mishkan Chicago, Base Chicago, and JCFS Chicago, this group meets on Wednesdays throughout the month to share memories of our loved ones and discuss our experiences of grief in a supportive space.

Grief occurs after the death of someone we love, and it is also manifest in the midst of losses that may not be as obvious or easily described. Clients come to us while dealing with issues such as dementia, infertility, family estrangement or divorce. These are living losses—the loss experiences and their accompanying ambiguity that we must learn to live with as we continue with our lives. Some living losses are readily apparent, such as the loss of functionality, loss of roles, or the absence of loved ones through other means than death.
