This year marks Nanci Dobkin’s sixth time as co-chair of Tuned In: The Larry Dobkin Event, the annual fundraiser for JCFS Chicago’s Response for Teens program. Her neighbor and family friend, Barry Rubin, who has served on the Response Advisory Council (RAC) since 2022, joins her as co-chair.

Todd Grayson has been a member of the JCFS Chicago Board since 2017. Emily Keith just joined in 2022. They are the two co-chairs for the 2023 A Striking Event – the largest annual fundraising event at JCFS.

Nick was seeking his first job and independence at work, so he reached out to JCFS Chicago for help. By collaborating with employment specialists at the Duman Opportunity Center, Nick identified his interests, skills, and experience to find the best job suited for him.

Michael Capone, a native Chicagoan and finance professional, became the new Board Chair of JCFS Chicago at our annual meeting in September. Drawing inspiration from his Jewish roots and values, he is passionate about giving back to the community as a volunteer and donor.

Originally from the Washington, DC area, Rachel Ferber was inspired to get involved in the Jewish community by her mother, who was a champion of Jewish women’s learning and education. Today, Rachel uses her mother’s example in every aspect of her work as a Jewish community leader, philanthropist, and JCFS Chicago board member.

For many, any thoughts of romance were put on a solid hold over the last 2+ years of the pandemic. As much of the country is now vaccinated, many people are once again ready to dip (or dive!) into the dating scene.  What follows are some thoughts on how we can enjoy dating thoughtfully, perhaps a little more slowly, and in line with our Jewish values.

Telehealth services have reduced some of the barriers to receiving mental health counseling using digital technology. Teletherapy (also known as telehealth counseling) is especially helpful to clients that do not have the ability to visit with their mental health counselor in person.
