Joshua Garvey, LCPC
Joshua Garvey brings expertise in clinical leadership and community mental health services to his role at JCFS. After earning his master's degree in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University, Joshua established himself through leadership roles at non-profit social services agencies throughout Chicagoland. His therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, while incorporating evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Joshua combines program leadership with clinical excellence, supporting both staff development and therapeutic services to advance the center's mission of strengthening families and nurturing child development. He sees clients in West Rogers Park and virtually.
Shelby Golden, LSW
Shelby Golden is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her master's degree in social work from Erikson Institute with a concentration in children, adolescents and adults. Shelby conducts psychotherapy with children and families from developmental, relational and trauma-informed lenses. She incorporates play, creativity and curiosity into her work. Shelby sees clients in our West Rogers Park office.
Kate Granholm, LCSW
Kate Granholm holds a master’s degree in social work from the Erikson Institute, with a focus in early childhood development. She practices from a trauma-informed, strengths-based lens to provide psychodynamic therapy for children and families. Kate engages with families from a relationship-based and wholistic view of the child and family, utilizing child-led play, mindfulness and the therapeutic relationship to promote healing and growth. Additionally, Kate provides group therapy services for young children to promote social skill development and works with families, teachers and the administration in the school system to support the social-emotional needs of children in the classroom. Kate sees clients at our West Rogers Park Location.
Sara Hood, LPC
Sara Hood holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, with an emphasis in drama therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She counsels children and families, as well as provides consultation services to two preschools in the Chicago area. Sara believes that self-expression is healing, enjoys using the expressive arts in her work and is excited to offer people space to explore themselves. Before working as a clinician, Sara was a live performer on cruise ships, theme parks and regional theater. Sara sees clients in our West Rogers Park office.
Ellyn Drathring Jung, LCSW
Ellyn Drathring Jung is a Licensed Social Worker who offers play-based psychodynamic therapy for children, adolescents and families. She is committed to helping individuals build relational and emotional capacity to foster fulfilling family relationships and positive self-regard. Her training in community health and extensive experience working in health centers informs her holistic approach to the impact of systemic trauma and socioeconomic factors on mental health. Ellyn holds a master’s degree in social work specializing in community health and urban development from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at UIC and completed the Child and Family Therapy post-graduate course through New York University's Silver School of Social Work. Ellyn sees clients in our West Rogers Park location.

Linnet Mendez, LCPC
Linnet Mendez provides psychotherapy for families and children, focusing on parent guidance, responding to issues related to trauma and loss, improving relationships and fostering personal creativity. Linnet also provides mental health consultation to early childhood education programs. She offers reflective and administrative supervision to staff focused on improving their capacity to deliver quality therapeutic services. Linnet facilitates a reflective learning group for mental health consultants across the state. She has developed training curriculum, both asynchronous learning modules and in-person workshops, focused on the social/emotional health and well-being of young children and their families.
Berenice Miranda, MSW
Berenice Miranda earned her master’s degree in social work from Jane Addams College of Social Work at UIC. She specializes in psychodynamic therapy with children, families and adults using a relational, family-centered and trauma-informed approach to foster growth and healing. She emphasizes supporting the whole child and family, incorporating play therapy, mindfulness and reflective practices. Berenice also provides mental health consultation to preschool programs to support teacher, student and family collaboration. She co-leads a socialization group for children aged 3-6, promoting social and emotional development. Berenice sees clients in our West Rogers Park Office.
