Donor Profile: Laurie Price
Involved with JUF since graduating from college, Laurie Price’s initial connection to JCFS Chicago began during her eldest son’s Bar Mitzvah project about 15 years ago. It was through this project that Laurie met Stacey Shor, now President & CEO of JCFS, and was impressed with the agency’s leadership and willingness to go above and beyond. A Chicagoland area native, Laurie has been part of the JCFS Board for 12 years and is currently a member of the Resource Development Committee. For Laurie, being associated with JCFS means being surrounded by talented, hard-working, and energetic people, and that has kept her engaged for many years.
During her time on the Board, Laurie has been integral to the success of two major capital campaigns — the Abe & Ida Cooper Center in West Rogers Park, and the Seigle Campus in Skokie. Laurie is the Founder and President of CDI Construction, and was able to leverage the company’s resources, skills, and connections to help with construction of both projects from start to finish. Laurie is proud of giving back in this way and believes it is especially meaningful when she can use her professional experience to support the work of JCFS. In areas where she doesn’t have the time or expertise to add value professionally, her financial contributions help enable others better served to support those areas.
As Chair of the JCFS End of Year Campaign this year, Laurie is proud to help her peers join in the joy of giving to such an important cause. “In extraordinary times like these it is critical to help those who are most vulnerable, and that is why supporting JCFS is so meaningful to me. By supporting JCFS, your time and money is going directly to children, families, and individuals who most depend on these services.” adds Laurie. Giving back in a meaningful way is essential to the health and vibrancy of our community.
“JCFS is a safe landing for people in need, serviced by staff who are eager to help in any way they can.” – Laurie Price
