When Earnest came to JVS, he regularly talked about two things: his knowledge of and experience with cleaning, and his love for animals.

When beginning to look for employment, we looked for cleaning positions at gyms, libraries, fast food restaurants, as well as movie theaters. One day, the JVS Employment Specialist working with Earnest decided to marry these interests and reached out to local pet stores and doggy day cares. 

One of the locations was Central Bark doggy day care near his home; where the JVS Employment Specialist went to inquire about an informational interview.

The owner of Central Bark was very receptive and eager to meet Earnest.

Soon after meeting with the owner, Earnest was employed to help clean the kennels. He now is happily working three days a week cleaning kennels and once he finishes, he gets to spend the remainder of his shift with the dogs.

Over time he is getting to know each of the dogs and is working on building relationships.
