JCFS provides affordable, comprehensive psychological evaluations and consultation to foster the development of children and adults. Provided in a relaxed setting, our services provide individuals a comfortable, individualized process that is tailored to fit each client’s unique needs. Psychological Services can be obtained as a primary service or in conjunction with another program of JCFS.
Comprised of a team of qualified professionals in the field of Clinical Psychology, our team offers diagnostic interviewing, formalized assessment and testing and observation. Our staff, which include a team of senior-level, clinical psychologists, are complemented by clinical trainees who bring the most innovative research and literature to the department. We pride ourselves in offering our clients a thorough, follow-up approach that includes forming professional relationships with all appropriate parties, whether a child’s school administrators or a client’s spouse, if requested.
Psychological Evaluations
Psychological Evaluations include but are not limited to diagnostic interviewing, assessment of emotional, behavioral, social, adaptive and intellectual functioning and early childhood assessment (clinical observation and interviewing, as well as formalized testing when necessary).
Psycho-Educational Evaluations
Psycho-educational evaluations focus on the assessment of a client's intellectual, cognitive and academic functioning for the purposes of making recommendations for educational services. This type of evaluation is used for identifying learning styles, as well as learning disorders.
Consultation
Our consultation services include interpretation of previous psychological testing reports, “second opinions” for school evaluations, understanding childhood disorders and reviewing treatment and intervention options.
Psycho-Educational Presentations
Presentations to area professionals or community groups are available. Sample topics include but are not limited to pre-school attachment, understanding psychological evaluations, behavior management skills and strategies for emotional balance through self-care.
Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessments
Specialized multi-disciplinary team assessments focused on the evaluation of children who may have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The assessments are done in conjunction with staff members for our Early Childhood Autism Academy program.
Clinical Training Program In Psychology
JCFS is proud to have an established and comprehensive clinical training program for individuals on the path to becoming a clinical psychologist.
JCFS offers the following training tracks:

- Diagnostic Practicum
- APA Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship
- Post-Doctoral Internship
JCFS emphasizes a generalist model in the treatment and assessment of children, adolescents and families.
