Jews in Recovery: A Sober Megillah
February 21, 2010
Sunday, 1:00 - 4:00pm

The Jewish Healing Network of Chicago will host “A Sober Megillah”, a Jewish Recovery program for people in Recovery or struggling with alcohol, drugs and other addictions and their family members over age 13.

“A Sober Megllah” will offer a message of hope and healing to addicts and their family members impacted by addiction. Rabbi Jodie Futornick, a compassionate speaker on issues of addiction will be the keynote speaker and breakout groups will be facilitated by members of the Jewish Recovery community. Breakout group topics include Purim as Redemption, 12 Step Torah and Taking Off the Mask of Addiction. The program will include a large group meeting where we come together as a community to explore the challenges of being Jewish and in Recovery from addiction. We find that we are no longer isolated by the disease and that being in community is an essential piece of our healing process and spiritual development.

Participants at our past Recovery events have shared, “It would be great to have these 'spirituality days' quarterly." “[T]hank you for this program,” and “[T]hank you for doing this.”

Light Kosher refreshments will be served.
